A Quality Inspector (Coating) ensures that coatings applied to surfaces including pipelines, tanks, structural steel, and civil components conform to industry standards and project specifications. They conduct visual and technical inspections to assess coating thickness, adhesion, and overall quality, monitor surface preparation activities, and document findings in detailed reports. The inspector collaborates with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve coating-related issues, provides guidance and training on proper coating techniques, and maintains accurate inspection records. They stay current with industry regulations and best practices to uphold coating quality and durability, contributing to asset protection and project success.
Measuring coating thickness, adhesion, and hardness using appropriate tools
Reviewing and interpreting project specifications, quality control plans (QCP), and inspection test plans (ITP)
Providing technical guidance and training on coating application techniques and industry standards
Providing guidance and training to working team regarding paint coverage, reconciliation and disposal of empty paint drums.
Conducting visual and specialized inspections of coatings on various surfaces
Establishing the standards and focusing on the continuous improvements
Diploma/B.Tech/Degree preferably in chemical engineering. NACE certified.
Preferably 3-5 years in oil and gas industry in the area of coating inspection with NACE CIP Level 1 or Level 2 certification.
