Quality Inspector

As a Quality Engineer specialized in BIS Compliance for Webbing Belts & Lifting Slings, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of these products according to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Your main focus will be on inspecting and testing the materials to meet the required standards and maintaining certification and audit readiness. Your key responsibilities will include inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with BIS standards such as IS 15060, IS 3521, IS 2762, among others. You will be conducting routine quality checks, dimensional inspections, and load-bearing tests following BIS methods. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining proper marking, labelling, and traceability as per BIS certification norms, as well as keeping all inspection records, calibration reports, and test data up to date. Furthermore, your role will involve preparing for and participating in BIS audits and surveillance visits, coordinating with internal quality teams and external labs for testing and certification renewal, identifying non-conformities, and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions. You will also ensure that production processes align with BIS guidelines and approved quality manuals. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Textile Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, preferably in textile-based safety products. You must possess a deep understanding of the BIS certification process and standards related to webbing products and slings, hands-on experience with testing equipment, strong documentation and communication skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. This is a full-time position located in MIDC Ambarnath, with office timing from 10 AM to 6:30 PM and Fridays off due to the current shutdown. The salary offered for this role is between 4 to 5 LPA.
