Job Summary

Head Quality Control and Assurance is responsible for overseeing all quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities within the organization. This role ensures that all seeds produced and processed meet the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance. Head Quality will lead a team of quality professionals and work closely with production, research, and sales departments to implement and maintain effective quality management systems (QMS).

Key Responsibilities

1.

1.1 Develop, implement, and manage the companys quality control processes and procedures.

1.2 Ensure all seed production and processing activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

1.3 Oversee routine and non-routine testing of seeds for quality, purity, and germination rates.

1.4 Monitor and analyze QC data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

2.1 Lead the QA team in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).

2.2 Conduct regular audits of internal processes and external suppliers to ensure compliance with QA standards.

2.3 Develop and maintain documentation related to quality policies, procedures, and standards.

2.4 Manage and resolve quality-related issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner.

3.1 Recruit, train, and mentor QC and QA staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

3.2 Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback to team members.

3.3 Ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest industry best practices and regulatory changes.

4.1 Collaborate with research, production, and sales teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated into product development and marketing strategies.

4.2 Work with supply chain and procurement teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers.

4.3 Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss quality objectives and project updates.

5.

5.1 Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

5.2 Implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve quality performance.

5.3 Stay abreast of advancements in seed technology, quality management, and regulatory changes.

6.

6.1 Ensure all products and processes comply with local, national, and international regulations.

6.2 Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections by regulatory bodies.

Maintain updated records of certifications, licenses, and regulatory filings.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in quality control/quality assurance within the seed industry only.
• Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in seed quality management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) is a plus.

Work Environment

• Office and laboratory settings, with regular visits to production and processing facilities.

Random travel to supplier sites, industry conferences, to handled Field Quality complaint and regulatory meetings.
