Role & responsibilities

Quality Control Head

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control Management

   :
• Develop and implement comprehensive quality control strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure all products manufactured in the plant meet the specified quality standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP, etc.).
• Oversee the daily operations of the quality control department, ensuring all inspection and testing procedures are strictly followed.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system (QMS) for continuous product quality assurance.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to quality control guidelines across all departments.

2. Testing & Inspection

   :
• Supervise and validate all incoming raw material inspections, ensuring suppliers meet quality standards before material use.
• Conduct in-process and final product inspections to assess product integrity, strength, durability, tamper evidence, and other quality attributes.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop and validate new testing methods and ensure new products meet quality specifications before launch.
• Manage the testing and calibration of quality control equipment and testing tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.

3. Team Leadership & Development

   :
• Lead, manage, and develop a team of quality control inspectors and specialists, ensuring they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
• Conduct performance evaluations for the QC team and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by organizing regular training and skills development programs for all QC staff.
• Set clear performance goals and KPIs for the QC team, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback.

4. Data Analysis & Reporting

   :
• Analyze quality control data, test results, customer feedback, and production output to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
• Generate and maintain comprehensive reports on product quality, testing results, and compliance status for management review.
• Proactively identify recurring quality issues and lead corrective and preventive actions to eliminate the root causes.
• Prepare periodic reports for senior management on quality control performance and improvement initiatives.

5. Corrective & Preventive Actions

   :
• Lead root cause analysis for any quality issues identified during production, customer feedback, or audits, and develop corrective actions to resolve them.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to implement preventive measures to avoid future occurrences of quality issues.
• Ensure timely completion of corrective actions and follow-up to ensure effectiveness.

6. Supplier Quality Management

   :
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components used in production.
• Conduct supplier audits and collaborate with purchasing to establish quality standards for materials, ensuring compliance with plant requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to non-conformance or delays in material delivery.

7. Regulatory Compliance & Certifications

   :
• Ensure the plant complies with all relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements related to packaging materials (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, environmental regulations).
• Maintain and update the plants quality certifications and ensure all required audits are successfully completed with minimal non-conformance findings.
• Keep up with industry trends, customer expectations, and regulatory changes to ensure that quality control processes are always aligned with current standards.

8. Customer Satisfaction & Complaint Resolution

   :
• Manage and resolve any customer complaints or product returns related to quality, ensuring timely investigations and corrective actions.
• Track customer feedback and work proactively with the production and R&D teams to address any concerns and enhance product quality.
• Implement processes to monitor customer satisfaction and continuously improve customer relations.

9. Budget & Resource Management

   :
• Manage the budget for the quality control department, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
• Ensure that quality control tools, equipment, and supplies are available and properly maintained.
• Implement cost-effective methods to improve quality while maintaining a high standard of excellence.

10. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    :
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve process efficiency, and minimize defects in the production process.
• Actively drive innovation in testing methods, quality assurance practices, and overall product quality.
• Evaluate industry best practices and integrate relevant ones into the plants operations to enhance quality management processes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related fields) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Quality Control in the manufacturing industry (preferably in packaging with C-Pet Specialization).
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of BRC / 5S / ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
