Position Title: QHSE and GWO Trainer
Location: Base Location at Chennai and Training travelling to Pan India

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified QHSE and GWO Trainer to lead our training programs and drive a robust safety culture within the company. The ideal candidate will be an expert in both general industrial health and safety standards (QHSE) and the specific safety requirements of the wind energy sector as defined by the Global Wind Organization (GWO). This role is crucial for ensuring our workforce is competent, compliant, and equipped to perform their duties safely, especially when working at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging weather conditions
Training & Development:
- Deliver GWO- Basic Safety Training (BST): Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, and Sea Survival (if applicable).
- Basic Technical Training (BTT): Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic.
- Advanced Rescue Training (ART) and other specialized modules as required.
- Conduct QHSE inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Develop, update, and customize training materials, presentations, and practical exercises in line with GWO standards, ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), and national regulations (e.g., Factories Act, rules under the Indian Labour Law).
- Utilize a variety of training methodologies, including classroom sessions, practical demonstrations, simulations, and e-learning modules, to ensure effective knowledge transfer
- Conduct practical assessments and evaluations to confirm that trainees have met the required learning objectives and can apply skills effectively.
- Ensure all training is delivered in strict accordance with GWO standards, national regulations, and company QHSE policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and documentation.
- Manage the GWO's WINDA database by registering trainees and uploading their training records to ensure their certifications are valid and verifiable.
- Conduct regular internal audits of training facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure they meet GWO accreditation requirements.
- Assist the QHSE department in maintaining the company's ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications by contributing to training-related procedures, audits, and documentation control.
- Collaborate with the QHSE team to identify training needs through risk assessments, incident investigations, and site inspections.
- Act as a subject matter expert on safety procedures, best practices, and GWO standards, providing guidance to site managers and supervisors.
- Participate in accident and near-miss investigations, identifying training gaps and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Champion a proactive safety culture through training, communication, and leading by example.
- Stay informed of changes in GWO standards, industry best practices, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements in India and internationally.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certifications (Mandatory):
- GWO Instructor Certification: Must hold a valid GWO Instructor Qualification and be certified to teach the relevant GWO modules (e.g., BST, BTT).
- QHSE Qualification: NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent, or a relevant diploma/degree in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution (e.g., CLI/RLI, DGFASLI).
- Auditor Certification (Optional) : Internal Auditor certification for ISO 45001 (OH&S) and/or ISO 9001 (Quality)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience in QHSE management or a safety training role, with at least 5 years of experience as a certified GWO trainer.
- Proven experience in a high-risk industry such as wind energy, oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting practical, hands-on training and assessments.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English , Tamil and Hindi to effectively deliver training to a diverse workforce.
- Proven ability to engage adult learners, adapt training styles, and facilitate interactive learning sessions.
- Solid understanding of wind turbine components, Technical professional and knowledge in operations and associated risks.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian and international health and safety legislation, ISO management systems, and risk assessment techniques.
- Meticulous attention to detail for record-keeping and training administration.
- Ability to analyse incidents, identify root causes, and propose effective training-based solutions.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform practical training activities, including working at heights and manual handling demonstrations.
Authority:
- Has the authority to immediately halt any training activity or practical exercise if unsafe conditions are identified, or if a trainee's actions pose an immediate risk.
- Has the authority to withhold or suspend a trainee's certification if they fail to meet the required competence standards or demonstrate a lack of commitment to safety on discussion with QHSE functional Head
- Has the authority to recommend changes to training content, schedules, and resources to the QHSE/Training Manager based on training effectiveness and feedback.
- Authorized to inspect and approve the use of all training equipment and PPE to ensure it is in a safe and serviceable condition.
Accountability:
- Accountable for the accuracy of training records and the adherence of all GWO and QHSE training activities to relevant standards and legal requirements.
- Accountable for maintaining the Training effectiveness / Feedback register of all personnel trained.
- Directly accountable for the safety of all trainees and staff during training sessions.
- Accountable for the proper use and maintenance of all training facilities, equipment, and materials.
- Accountable for the timely and accurate reporting of any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions that occur during training.

Pay: ₹28,086.00 - ₹40,339.73 per month
