QC Chemist

Ensure that all incoming, in-process, and outgoing Raw Materials (RM), Packing Materials (PM), and Finished Goods (FG) are inspected and QC-approved, and that identification and traceability are maintained at all stages from material inward to FG dispatch, including PM.

Ensure calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.

Ensure outsourced inspection services/service providers are evaluated and approved.

Participate in the supplier evaluation process, including on-site supplier audits.

Coordinate with Production and Purchase departments to report quality issues with RM/PM, processes, and FG.

Preserve test samples for the defined period and dispose of them later with proper documentation and records.

Ensure instrument calibration as per defined schedules.

Report non-conformities to respective plants and update the NCR module.

Conduct testing of R&D and customer complaint samples.

Maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory.

Follow lab safety guidelines at all times.

Coordinate with the Dispatch team to ensure timely approval of dispatches in the system.

Maintain all documents in compliance with QMS/EMS/OSHA systems.

Ensure clear understanding and compliance with QMS/EHS/OSHA system requirements applicable to assigned work.

Perform sampling and testing of raw materials, packing materials, in-process samples, and finished goods as per specifications.

Prepare and standardize chemical solutions.

Test received samples during shifts and report results to the respective departments within defined timelines.

Conduct analysis of water samples (utility and ETP samples).

Maintain inventory of consumables, glassware, and chemicals used for testing.

Be responsible and accountable for QHSSE performance of assigned sections/sub-sections.

Report QHSSE incidents and non-conformances, conduct investigations, and initiate corrective and preventive actions in the QC lab.

Ensure inspections and tests are conducted per defined norms, QHSSE guidelines, and work instructions.

Conduct QHSSE inspections of QC premises and arrange corrective actions for identified shortcomings.

Participate in QHSSE awareness and promotional activities, including emergency preparedness drills.

Qualify new vendor samples and participate in offsite/onsite vendor evaluations; report findings to QA.

Ensure participation in mock drills for emergency preparedness.

Conduct inspections and testing as per sampling procedures and quality plans, complying with all QHSSE norms.

Use only calibrated equipment for QC activities.

Perform sample analysis and maintain inspection and test records for FG, intermediates, in-process, and raw materials in compliance with QHSSE norms.

Maintain lab apparatus with regard to cleaning, handling, preservation, storage, and calibration.

Maintain control samples as per the quality plan.
