QA/QC Engineer- Fasteners Division

1. Key Purpose of the Role

To ensure that all fasteners manufactured in the division meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements through effective inspection, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement processes.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards such as ISO 898, ISO 3506, IS 1367, IS 3757, ASTM, DIN, EN standards, etc.
• Review and approve process documents, quality plans, control plans, and inspection standards.
• Ensure raw material certification review (mill test certificates).
• Perform incoming, in process, and final inspection of fasteners (bolts, nuts, screws, studs, washers).
• Measure dimensions using Vernier, Micrometer, Thread Plug & Ring Gauges, Height Gauge, etc.
• Conduct mechanical property testshardness, tensile, proof load, wedge load, impact, etc.
• Conduct thread fitment tests, pitch diameter measurements, and surface finish checks.
• Inspection of plating/coating—zinc, hot dip galvanizing, phosphate, etc. per standards.
• Perform visual inspection for defects such as cracks, underfills, burrs, dents, rust, and deformation.
• Prepare Inspection Reports (IR), rejection reports, NCRs, and CAPA documentation.
• Maintain calibration records for gauges and instruments.
• Prepare part history sheets, traceability documentation, and maintain QMS documentation.
• Implement and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949 quality requirements, wherever applicable.
• Support internal & external audits—customer, thirdparty, and certification audits.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of fasteners manufacturing processes—cold forging, machining, heat treatment, thread rolling, and surface coating.
• Familiar with national and international fastener standards (ISO, IS, ASTM, DIN).
• Hands-on experience with all metrology and testing equipment.

Soft Skills

• Good analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with production, maintenance, and design teams.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

4. Qualification

Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering.

5. Salary

As per company norms and candidate experience.
