QA Engineer

As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for various key activities including: - Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. - Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases. - Estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating testing activities. - Designing, developing, and executing automation scripts using open source tools. - Identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly, and tracking bugs. - Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved. - Developing and applying testing processes for new and existing projects to meet client needs. - Liaising with internal teams (e.g. developers and project managers) to identify system requirements. - Monitoring debugging process results. - Investigating the causes of non-conforming software and training users to implement solutions. - Tracking quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts. - Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies. Qualifications required for this role include: - Proven work experience in the software development industry. - Proven experience in manual software testing methodologies and techniques. - Familiarity with various testing types such as functional, integration, regression, and usability testing. - Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. - Proficiency in using testing tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail, HP Quality Center). - Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process. Additionally, the following skills are considered good-to-have: - Relevant certifications in quality assurance (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.). - Understanding of specific domains like healthcare, finance, e-commerce, etc., depending on the industry the organization operates in. - Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner for assessing systems. Please note that this is a full-time position. Experience in software testing for at least 2 years is required. The work location is in person.
