Description
As a QA Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Kochi for a Hybrid role, your role will involve handling manual testing, automation development, crawling and verification, test case creation, release QA, and ongoing monitoring. Key Responsibilities: - Use Case Feasibility, Planning & Validation: - Understand new client requirements and define expected outcomes clearly. - Assess if the use case can be achieved using the current JS rules engine. - Create test cases and acceptance criteria for every new feature. - Obtain Tampermonkey testing scripts from developers if achievable. - Test thoroughly across different domain structures. - Document limitations and create feature-request tickets if not achievable. - Bug Analysis, Reproduction & Test Case Creation: - Reproduce bugs consistently with precise steps. - Write bug-based test cases including expected vs actual behavior. - Identify if the issue can be resolved using existing JS logic or requires new code from the dev team. - Validate fixes and track regressions. - Build QA Automation Tools: - Design, build, and maintain internal automation tools to improve efficiency. - Develop automation responsibilities such as headless crawlers, scripts for JS validation, comparison tools for page states, screenshot comparison systems, batch testing tools, and automated error detection utilities. - Utilize technologies like Node.js, Puppeteer/Playwright, Tampermonkey, and internal CLIs, dashboards, or utilities. - Crawling & Error Log Verification: - Conduct domain-wide crawls to detect issues early. - Run crawlers across all client domains to detect JS errors, missing rules, unexpected DOM changes, validate tag behavior, and ensure no broken pages exist. - Cross-check crawler results with daily error logs, identify patterns, create reports, and proactively detect regressions or performance issues. - Complete Release QA Workflow: - Pre-Release: Test all existing tags using Tampermonkey, update regression cases, execute full regression manually and via automation. - Release Prep: Create detailed release tickets, confirm tests pass. - Release Execution: Release to dev domain, run Ghost Inspector regression suite, validate UI and tag behaviors. - Post-Release: Test on real production client domains, verify live tags and page modifications, validate via manual tests and automated crawls. - Daily Monitoring & Domain-Wide Stability Checks: - Monitor daily error logs for all client domains, detect abnormal spikes in JS errors, investigate errors, collaborate with developers, and maintain dashboards/reports for ongoing monitoring. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of JavaScript and browser mechanics. - Experience with Node.js, Puppeteer/Playwright for automation tools. - Experience running and maintaining web crawlers and log scanners. - Ability to write comprehensive test cases. - Strong debugging skills using Chrome DevTools. - Comfortable testing across multi-domain environments. Familiar with: - Ghost Inspector or equivalent. - Bug tracking tools like Wrike/Jira. - Git workflows. Preferred Skills: - Experience with rule-engine-based systems. - Understanding of Next.js or similar frameworks. - Experience with error logging systems. - Knowledge of SEO tag behavior and DOM manipulation. - Building visual diff tooling or screenshot comparison automation.
