QA Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with a strong foundation in manual testing, database validation, SQL queries, and Sybase to SQL migration. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of ensuring high-quality software through structured testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities : Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for functional, regression, and integration testing. Conduct database testing to ensure integrity, consistency, and accuracy in data migrations. Write and optimize SQL queries to validate data transformations and troubleshoot migration issues. Lead and support Sybase to SQL migration by identifying risks, validating data mapping, and ensuring seamless transitions. Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and stakeholders to define and implement robust testing strategies. Identify, document, and track defects using QA tools such as JIRA or TestRail. Ensure test environments are maintained for accurate validation of software and database updates. Required Skills Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in QA manual testing with exposure to database validation. Proficiency in SQL queries for data validation and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with Sybase to SQL migration projects. Strong understanding of testing methodologies, bug reporting, and defect tracking. Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of test automation tools (Selenium, TestNG, etc.) for future scalability. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing integration processes. Ability to optimize database queries for efficiency.
