QA Director

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

• Define and implement QA strategy aligned with product and platform goals.
• Build and lead a high-performing QA team across manual, automation, and performance testing.
• Drive adoption of modern QA practices including shift-left testing, CI/CD integration, and test automation.

Execution & Delivery

• Own quality metrics (e.g., defect rate, test coverage, release readiness).
• Ensure timely and high-quality releases through robust test planning and execution.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated testing into pipelines.

Process & Tools

• Standardize QA processes across teams and product lines.
• Select and implement tools for test management, automation, and performance monitoring.
• Promote best practices in secure coding and compliance (e.g., SOC2, GDPR).

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Support to align on quality goals and customer expectations.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and release reviews.
• Represent QA in leadership forums and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software QA, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in building and scaling QA teams in a SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and test automation frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Postman, and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to compliance-driven environments (e.g., healthcare, finance).
• Experience with AI/ML testing or integrating AI into QA workflows is a plus
