Position: PYP Coordinator (PYPC)

Location: Dabolim, Goa

Reports to: Head of School / IB Coordinator

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Work Hours: Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) | 2 Saturdays off per month

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Leadership• Lead and oversee the implementation of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) across all grades (Nursery to Grade 5)

• Ensure alignment of the Programme of Inquiry (POI) with IB standards and the school's vision

• Support teachers in planning transdisciplinary, concept-driven units of inquiry

• Promote a culture of inquiry, reflection, and international-mindedness throughout the primary school

Pedagogical Support• Guide and mentor faculty in IB philosophy, learner profile attributes, and approaches to learning (ATL)

• Facilitate collaborative planning sessions and ensure curriculum continuity and progression

• Model best practices in inquiry-based teaching and assessment

IB Liaison & Compliance• Act as the key point of contact between the school and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)

• Ensure documentation and evidence required for IB evaluation visits are updated and maintained

• Oversee the school’s adherence to IB Standards and Practices and lead self-study processes

Professional Development• Identify professional development needs and facilitate IB-recognized training for staff

• Organize and lead in-house workshops, reflection sessions, and action research initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement• Conduct orientation sessions and workshops for parents to build awareness of the PYP framework

• Collaborate with leadership, teachers, and support teams to enhance student learning experiences

Qualifications

Required:• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or related field

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Primary education with at least 2–3 years in an IB PYP setting

• Deep understanding of IB philosophy, PYP framework, and unit planning

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

• Proficient in collaborative team leadership and documentation

Preferred:• IB-certified PYP training (Category 1/2/3 workshops)

• Experience leading IB authorization or evaluation processes

• Familiarity with student agency, inclusive education, and digital tools in an IB environment
