Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Development:
Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Procurement & Negotiation:
Manage the procurement process, issue purchase orders, negotiate terms and pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Cost Optimization:
Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality, and forecast procurement expenses.
Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with quality teams to ensure all purchased materials meet required specifications and standards, and handle non-conformance issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with engineering, production, and other departments to understand material needs, project schedules, and technical requirements.
Market Research:
Conduct research to stay informed about material trends, pricing, availability, and new product developments.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal regulations, and industry standards, and maintain accurate purchase records.
Supply Chain Risk Management:
Proactively monitor market conditions and supplier capabilities to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.

Essential Skills

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems.
Knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices.
Technical knowledge relevant to the engineering industry to understand material specifications.
