Psychiatric Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dependable Psychiatric Assistant to join our support team serving all outpatient psychiatric clinics across California. In this role, you will offer empathetic, non-judgmental support to patients over the phone, assist with crisis intervention, and help connect callers to the appropriate mental health resources or care providers. Job Responsibilities: Screen patients' behavior, mood, and physical condition through phone calls. Report significant changes to psychiatrists. Check if patients are following hygiene and medication routines informed by provider during previous appointment. Check for and manage signs of aggression, self-harm, or other safety concerns through phone calls and escalate to on duty providers. Offer empathy, encouragement, and active listening. Build trusting relationships with patients. Communicate patient progress and concerns with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
