PRT Social Science Teacher

A PRT (Primary/Junior) Social Science teacher develops and delivers engaging lessons on history, geography, civics, and culture for young students, focusing on building foundational knowledge through interactive methods, managing classrooms, assessing progress with projects/tests, and maintaining strong communication with parents and colleagues, all while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Key duties include lesson planning, creating activities, assessing understanding, encouraging participation, and ensuring fundamental concepts are grasped. Key Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning & Delivery: Create and implement creative, age-appropriate lesson plans for social science topics (History, Geography, Civics, Culture).
• Interactive Teaching: Use varied methods like lectures, discussions, group work, technology, and projects to keep students engaged.
• Student Assessment: Evaluate learning through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback.
• Classroom Management: Establish rules, maintain discipline, and foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere.
• Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about student progress, achievements, and needs.
• Collaboration: Work with other teachers and staff on school-wide initiatives and professional development.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and behavior.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (History, Geography).
• Certification: Relevant teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed).
• Experience: Experience in primary/elementary education, especially social studies.
• Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and classroom management skills, plus subject matter expertise.
