Prosthetist & Orthotist

As a Prosthetist & Orthotist, your main role will involve assisting in evaluating patients" needs through physical examinations and reviewing medical histories. You will conduct interviews and assessments to identify unique needs and brief patients on treatment plans. Additionally, you will play a key role in designing and fabricating prosthetic and orthotic solutions tailored to meet each patient's specific requirements. This includes creating orthotic devices based on patients" measurements and physician prescriptions. Some of your key responsibilities will include: - Patient Assessment: Conducting thorough physical examinations and medical history reviews to determine patients" needs. - Device Design and Fabrication: Designing and fabricating prosthetic and orthotic solutions that are comfortable, functional, and properly aligned. - Fitting and Adjustment: Ensuring that devices fit correctly and making necessary adjustments for comfort and functionality. - Patient Education: Providing patients with instructions on the use, care, and maintenance of their prosthetic or orthotic solutions. - Follow-Up Care: Offering ongoing care, making adjustments to devices based on patient feedback, and maintaining detailed patient records. - Continuing Education: Keeping up-to-date with advancements in prosthetics and orthotics through continuous education and training. In terms of qualifications, a Bachelor's Degree is a must for this role, and having 1-2 years of experience is preferred. You should possess technical skills to design orthotics or prosthetics, be detail-oriented for precise patient assessments, have strong communication skills to interact with physicians and technicians, and demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities.
