Project Scientist - Microbial & Biogas Research

As a Project Scientist - Microbial & Biogas Research at SRDI, you will play a crucial role in advancing cutting-edge technologies in the Biogas Engineering department. Your expertise will contribute to reshaping the future of automotive technology by integrating innovation with sustainability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead microbial workflows, including strain isolation, culturing, and DNA extraction. - Analyze bio-slurry and organic fertilizer samples for nutrient and elemental content. - Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as UV-Vis, AAS, GC (FID/TCD), spectroscopy, OES, flame photometer, centrifuge, and incubators. - Maintain detailed experimental records for internal reporting and regulatory compliance. - Coordinate with allied units such as Fertilizer Testing, Fermentation Chemistry, and other initiatives. - Ensure lab safety standards, equipment readiness, and audit-aligned record-keeping. **Qualification Required:** - M.Sc., M.Tech in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field. - Minimum 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in microbial strain work, analytical testing, and operation of advanced lab instrumentation. In this role, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in microbial techniques such as strain isolation, culturing, and DNA extraction. Your strong understanding of nutrient profiling and elemental analysis, coupled with your ability to maintain consistency across tests, will be essential.
