Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Civil Engineer / Civil Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, and supervision of all civil works related to substation projects, ensuring adherence to drawings, quality standards, safety norms, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Civil Works Execution

• Execution and supervision of civil works for substations including:
• Equipment foundations (Power Transformer, GIS/AIS structures)
• Control room buildings
• Cable trenches, duct banks, and RCC drains
• Switchyard leveling, gravel filling, and road works
• Ensure construction as per approved drawings and specifications.

Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and planning teams.
• Prepare construction schedules and monitor daily progress.
• Ensure timely availability of materials, drawings, and manpower.

Contractor & Site Management

• Manage civil contractors and subcontractors.
• Check measurements, certify RA bills, and monitor productivity.
• Resolve site execution issues.

Quality Control & Safety

• Implement QA/QC procedures and maintain quality records.
• Ensure compliance with safety norms and statutory regulations.
• Conduct site inspections and safety toolbox talks.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily progress reports and site records.
• Prepare BOQ-based measurements and as-built drawings.
• Support project handover documentation.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong experience in RCC structures, foundations, and industrial buildings.
• Knowledge of IS codes and construction best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings.
• Exposure to substation-specific civil works is mandatory.
• Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in AIS / GIS substation projects (220kV765kV).
• Exposure to EPC / utility projects.
