We are now looking for an experienced and qualified candidate with the main mission to work as Project Leader - Battery Modelling
Your main responsibilities in this role will be:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Battery Modelling Engineer to join our team. This position will involve working on the development and simulation of advanced battery models, specifically focusing on the electrical, thermal, and performance behavior of lithium-ion batteries. The successful candidate will use MATLAB and Simulink to create and validate models that simulate battery performance under various operating conditions, helping to drive innovations in battery technology.
Model-Based Development & Code Generation:
- Develop and implement detailed battery models using MATLAB and Simulink to simulate battery performance, capacity, and efficiency.
- Create and integrate battery models for use in various applications (e.g., electric vehicles, energy storage systems).
- Develop, simulate, and optimize control algorithms for BMS using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Implement automatic code generation using Embedded Coder, TargetLink, or similar tools.
- Ensure generated code is efficient, scalable, and compliant with embedded system constraints.
- Optimize the control logic and state estimation for battery systems.
Software Development & Embedded Systems:
- Develop and integrate embedded software for Electronic Control Modules (ECM).
- Work on real-time embedded system development for BMS applications.
- Implement firmware for battery diagnostics, state estimation (SoC, SoH, SoP), and fault detection.
- Ensure compatibility with automotive and industrial BMS requirements.
Testing & Validation (SIL/MIL/HIL):
- Design and execute Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation.
- Develop test cases, simulation models, and validation frameworks for software verification.
- Debug, analyze, and optimize software performance under real-world conditions.
- Perform data analysis on battery performance and system behaviour.
- Apply ML/AI techniques for predictive maintenance and battery health monitoring.
- Work with big data tools and cloud-based analytics platforms for battery optimization.
Collaboration & Compliance:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, control systems, and software engineers.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 (functional safety), ASPICE, and other automotive/energy storage standards.
- Contribute to software architecture, documentation, and technical reviews.
- Good project management knowledge.
- Basic people management knowledge.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in guiding and mentoring juniors.
Experience requirements:
- Experience in battery state estimation algorithms (SoC, SoH, SoP, RUL).
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C) for BMS integration.
- Familiarity with Python or C++ for algorithm development and automation.
