Project Engineer - Primary Engineering

As an Engineering authority for projects/tenders with low to medium complexity at Hitachi Energy, your role involves executing complete engineering assignments on small, medium, or large projects/tenders cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards. You will work based on technical specifications from end customers and inputs from the OU Engineering team to prepare Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, Cable routings, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, hours estimation, visit to project sites, technical risk assessment, and opportunity evaluation. Coordination with various teams including Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil/steel design functions, consultants, and end customers will be crucial in providing required support in each Project/Tender. Key Responsibilities: - Handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects - Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS - Preparation of Substation layouts, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, Cable routings, Cable tray routings, Clearance drawings, etc. - Understanding auxiliary design aspects of substations like LVAC/LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc. - Verification of technical data sheets of primary equipment - Evaluating vendor offers and conducting FAT/SAT of primary equipment - Assessing technical risks and opportunities, providing innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort - Planning, implementing, reviewing, and continuously improving quality system & following Opex initiatives - Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines - Upholding Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years of experience - Minimum 7-10 years of experience in substation tendering and project engineering activities - Proficiency in CAD design tools like BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation/AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, 3D competence - Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEEE, IEC, etc. - Ability to work independently, challenge traditional solutions, and execute complex projects - Dynamic, Proactive, Team Player, with a high level of ownership - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams - Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions - Proficiency in spoken & written English language Hitachi Energy is committed to supporting individuals with disabilities.
