Project Control Engineer

The Role

The Project Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring and controlling project constraints, risks, budgets, and schedules. This role involves providing comprehensive project management support, including progress reporting, expense forecasting, earned value analysis, and completion estimates. The Project Control Engineer ensures that projects are executed efficiently and effectively, minimizing risks and preventing losses or reputational damage to the company.

1. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
2. Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment of schedules with project goals.
3. Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual performance.
4. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
5. Track project expenditures and prepare regular financial reports.
6. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.
7. Forecast project expenses and cash flow requirements.
8. Identify and assess project risks, including technical, financial, and operational risks.
9. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
10. Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and adjust plans as needed.
11. Conduct regular risk reviews and update risk registers.
12. Monitor and report on project progress, including performance metrics and key indicators.
13. Perform earned value analysis (EVA) to assess project performance against baseline plans.
14. Prepare and present progress reports to management and stakeholders.
15. Provide insights and recommendations based on project performance data.
16. Develop and update project forecasts, including cost-to-complete (CTC) and estimate-to-complete (ETC) calculations.
17. Prepare estimates at completion (EAC) to provide accurate projections of project outcomes.
18. Conduct variance analysis to identify deviations from planned performance.
19. Perform detailed project management technical analyses to support decision-making.
20. Analyze project data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
21. Prepare and present technical reports and analyses to management.
22. Serve as the primary point of contact for project control-related queries.
23. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to management and stakeholders.
24. Provide regular updates on project performance and progress.
25. Ensure all project control activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
26. Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
27. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance.
28. Identify opportunities for improving project control processes and methodologies.
29. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project control effectiveness.
30. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in project management.
31. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure coordinated project efforts.
32. Provide support and guidance to project teams on project control matters.
33. Facilitate collaboration and information sharing among project stakeholders.

34. Preparation of Baseline Plans -

    Develop baseline plans for the Operations and Technical Departments.

35. Project Scheduling -

    Prepare and revise project schedules for clients.

36. Project Monitoring and Tracking -

    Monitor and track project progress against the established plan, identify deviations, and track expenses.

37. Reporting -

    Prepare regular reports for management on project performance, budget variances, and risks.

38. Budget Forecasting -

    Conduct budget forecasting to identify potential cost overruns associated with unexpected changes.

39. Cash Flow Forecasting and Tracking -

    Forecast and track cash flow to ensure financial stability throughout the project lifecycle.
