Program Manager (Fuel cell product development)

Required skills

• Relevant experience in product development in clean energy domain, preferably in electrochemical systems like batteries, fuel cells, electrolyzers, carbon capture
• Knowhow of electrochemical product development cycle is preferred for this role
• Proven experience in managing complex projects from start to finish.
• Demonstrated skill of team management at different levels
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and networking skills with government agencies, vendors, and research community
• Skilled in identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and team coordination.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Technical & Operational Deliverables:

• Lead R&D efforts related to stack materials engineering (e.g. electrode, membrane, catalyst layers, interconnects)
• Oversee the process for fuel cell deployment, including fuel cell stack development/testing, CFD modelling, controller development, BOP design & development, end use application integration and product prototyping
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for stack assembly, testing, and validation
• Generate technical reports, publish scientific results, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders
• Interact with funding agencies (such as DST, MNRE and other private agencies), ensure compliance, prepare project documentation, respond to audits
• Propose improvements and innovations in stack efficiency, stability, materials, and scaling strategies
• Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Manage regulatory compliance, staying informed on industry standards and safety regulations.

• Strategic Planning & Development:

• Define technical objectives and development goals for fuel cell prototypes and products.
• Plan and manage new product development processes from concept to deployment.
• Lead R&D efforts related to stack materials engineering (e.g. electrode, membrane, catalyst layers, interconnects)

• Project & Program Execution:

• Oversee project activities, including planning, development, and execution.
• Manage costs, schedules, and risks to meet program objectives.
• Ensure timely project delivery and successful implementation of fuel cell systems.
• Mentor junior engineers, interns, and project staff, guiding them in experiments and analyses
• Showcase companys products & technical achievements at technical/business forums

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work with internal development teams, engineering, and other cross-functional teams (e.g. modelling, controls, systems integration) to meet project goals
• Build and maintain partnerships with external vendors and stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, progress, and technical details effectively to various groups.
