Job Summary

Production & Quality Control Engineer FRP

Production Responsibilities

Supervise FRP fabrication activities including hand lay-up, filament winding, spray-up, and curing processes.
Ensure production is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
Monitor raw material consumption such as resins, glass fibers, catalysts, and fillers to control wastage.
Plan and manage daily production activities to meet project timelines.
Ensure proper mould preparation, lamination sequence, curing, trimming, and finishing.
Guide and supervise shop-floor technicians and contract workers.
Maintain safety standards, 5S practices, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).

Quality Control Responsibilities

Prepare, implement, and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
Conduct in-process and final inspections of FRP tanks, reactors, and vessels.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IS, ASTM, ASME RTP-1, BS, and DIN.
Perform hydro testing, spark testing, thickness measurement, and visual inspections.
Verify raw material test certificates and maintain material traceability.
Coordinate customer, consultant, and third-party inspections.
Prepare inspection reports, test certificates, Material Data Records (MDR), and as-built drawings.
Handle non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of FRP materials and resins (Polyester, Vinyl Ester, Epoxy).
Hands-on experience in manufacturing FRP tanks, reactors, and vessels.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
