Production Operator

The duties and responsibilities for this position include operating precise small component assembly, riveting, staking, and other production machines, either automatic or manually operated, as assigned. You will be using checking fixtures and other measuring and gauging equipment to test and determine compliance with customer requirements. Your responsibilities will also include counting and labeling finished components, recording production information accurately, entering data into inventory systems using bar coding and computer facilities, and recording trends on appropriate forms. Additionally, you will be required to check assemblies to fixtures, gauges, tools, or visual inspection aids as outlined in the CP, ensuring cleanliness and safety of work areas and machines at all times, wearing gloves and shoe covers when assembling components, and following cleanliness checks for fixtures and general room inspections. You will need to work in a safe manner, observing safety rules and regulations, as well as pointing out problems and concerns related to quality, productivity, or safety matters. Participation as a team member supporting continuous improvement concepts and principles is expected. Other duties may include performing maintenance tasks such as tool changes and equipment set-up, compliance with legislative requirements of the OHSA, and accountability for specific Health & Safety responsibilities. Finished goods inspection as per the control plan and operator instructions will also be part of your responsibilities, including halting operations in the event of nonconformance and ensuring proper identification of non-conform material. The ideal candidate for this position should have completed a high school diploma, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and meet or exceed company standards after acquiring experience.
