Production Manager - Pune

Objectives of the function

• To lead and manage all aspects of production & maintenance activities in the sheet metal operations.

• Responsible for ensuring high-quality output.

• Responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of sheet metal production shop.

• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery timelines.

• Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machines, materials). • Manage and mentor production & maintenance supervisors, engineers, and technicians.

• Participate in capacity planning, capex budgeting, and technology upgrades.

• Support new product introductions and process validations.

• Monitor KPIs Productivity, Sheet metal utilization, cost out initiatives, Machine utilization, PPM, Uptime,MTTR,MTBF

• Reduce Operating cost and Work on cost saving projects throughout the department.

• Compliance of safety objectives while supervising manufacturing processes

• Maintain Disciplined in Unionized manpower and maintain open lines of communication between associates, Staff supervisors and Managers. • Review of line wise losses and action plan to reduce the losses on the lines

• Positive collaboration with cross functional team for production activities and complete the target by seeking support.

• Participate in MOST review, Time study and line balancing activity in department.

• Sustain the production processes as documented in QMS system or as per organization Norms (ONs)

• Drive Continuous improvement (KAIZEN) culture by collaborating with Supervisors on each lines.

• Monitoring the skills of Employees and bridging the skill gaps by identifying it though skill matrix.

• Monthly Recognition to the Employees for Good initiatives.

• To Update and maintain documents related to QMS, EMS, OHAS system.

• Participate in QMS, EMS, OHAS Audit both internal and external and maintain the required. documents as per system.

• Doing inventory and ensuring minimum variance of material.

• Participation in external competition line QCFI, CII and represent the department.

• Self-review of Objectives assigned and timely completion.
