Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling:

Develop and manage production schedules, forecast demand, and allocate resources to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.

Process Optimization:

Continuously analyze and improve production processes using methodologies like Lean manufacturing and Kaizen to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.

Quality Control:

Establish and enforce quality control standards and programs, monitoring all stages of production to ensure products meet company and industry regulations.

Team & Manpower Management:

Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of production staff and contractors; set performance goals, conduct reviews, and identify training needs.

Inventory & Supply Chain:

Oversee inventory of raw materials, components, and finished goods; collaborate with procurement to maintain a stable supply chain and prevent shortages.

Equipment Maintenance:

Ensure regular maintenance and timely repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Health & Safety:

Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety guidelines within the production facility.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

Liaise and coordinate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and logistics, to ensure production aligns with market needs and customer expectations.

Reporting & Data Analysis:

Collate and analyze production data to generate performance reports for factory management and customers.

Budget & Cost Control:

Estimate, negotiate, and manage production budgets; identify opportunities to control costs and reduce waste.
