Production Lead- SMR Controller

Role & responsibilities

• Lead overall manufacturing operations covering SMT, THT, box build, harness assembly, and system integration.
  
• Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and manuals for efficient plant operations.
  
• Plan and execute production schedules for turnkey, proto, and jobwork projects ensuring 100% on-time delivery.
  
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce rework, and optimize resource utilization.
  
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949, and EHS standards.

• Implement lean manufacturing practices, Kaizen, 5S, and mistake-proofing across production lines.
  
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  
• Lead audits and compliance for QMS, EMS, and internal ISO standards.
  
• Handle customer complaints, DFM reviews, and improvement projects ensuring zero-defect delivery.

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, supervisors, and operators.
  
• Ensure multi-skill training, safety adherence, and shop floor discipline.
  
• Conduct performance reviews and implement competency-building programs.
  
• Collaborate with HR for manpower planning and team development aligned to project requirements.

• Optimize consumables, reduce overtime, and improve machine utilization.
  
• Monitor productivity metrics (Sales per Manhour, FPI, Inventory Accuracy) and drive cost reduction initiatives.
  
• Drive CAPEX and OPEX planning for plant equipment and upgrades.

• Partner with Engineering, Business Development, Purchase, and Quality teams for smooth project execution.
  
• Participate in management reviews, annual target planning, and customer audits.
  
• Support new product introductions from proto to mass production stages.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / Bachelors degree in Electronics or related engineering discipline.
  
• 18+ years of experience in plant operations, preferably in EMS / electronics manufacturing.
  
• Certified internal auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 (preferred).
  
• Proven record of driving productivity improvement, cost optimization, and process excellence.
