PRODUCTION DESIGNER

As a skilled Production Designer with strong experience in furniture design, detailing, and technical drawings, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings for furniture pieces, including joinery, dimensions, and material specifications. Your role will involve working closely with the design and production teams to translate design concepts into manufacturing-ready plans. It is essential that designs meet structural and aesthetic standards, as well as cost and material constraints. You will also be expected to revise and update drawings based on feedback, develop cutting lists, hardware lists, and other production documentation, and assist in prototyping to identify potential design issues before mass production. Additionally, maintaining organized drawing files and version control will be part of your responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Degree/Diploma in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in furniture design and production detailing. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and Production software such as Infurnia, a good understanding of materials, and production techniques are also required. You should possess strong technical drawing and documentation skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, along with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset. Preferred skills for this position include experience in 3D modeling and rendering tools, knowledge of CNC and modular manufacturing processes, and familiarity with design trends and ergonomic standards.
