Product Owner

The Product Owners primary role is to ensure the Game Design requirements are clearly defined so that Development, Art, and Math tasks can be created and executed efficiently to deliver the game.

They are expected to:

• Provide the necessary Product (Game) input to facilitate sprint planning sessions.
• Own the Game jira board ensuring it is clean, up to date and accurate.

The Product Owner for the Porting Studio will also provide management oversight for the delivery responsibilities of the Studio, and have line management responsibility for team members. It is therefore essential that the product owner has evidence of strong leadership skills, and experience in project delivery.

• Provide project planning and inflight project status reporting.
• Retrospective project reporting and departmental KPIs.

Specific Responsibilities and Experience

Main Responsibilities

• Take the Game Description Documentation provided by Games Design and create well defined Epics and User Stories (with clearly defined acceptance criteria) in Jira
• Maintain the jira board ensuring tasks and bugs are properly linked to Epics / User Stories
• Run triage calls on bugs raised.
• The Product Owner is ultimately responsible for the quality of the jira board.
• Prioritisation of the backlog for sprint planning.
• Represent the Product (i.e. the Game) during sprint planning.
• Ensure Design review feedback is captured and User Stories updated appropriately.
• Ensure Jira workflows are being followed.
• Maintain Jira templates to aid creation of Jira boards.
• Act as Studio Lead, providing leadership and management guidance for extended Porting Studio team members
• Manage scheduling of porting projects - allocation of resource, planning and commitment to delivery.
• Weekly reporting on project status
• Retrospective reporting of project delivery and departmental KPIs

Required Skills and Experience

• 2 years of collecting requirements and turning them into to Epics and User Stories.
• Expertise in Jira, setting up workflows, templates, sprint boards and dashboards.
• 2 years leadership experience with at last 2 direct reports
• Demonstrable experience in Project Management and Delivery
