Product Owner

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Healthcare Data Product Manager to lead discovery, strategy, and delivery of enterprise-scale healthcare data products. This role partners closely with clients, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate complex healthcare workflows and regulatory requirements into high-quality, scalable data products that support payer and provider operations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Discovery

• Partner closely with enterprise clients, business owners, SMEs, and operational teams to understand healthcare business processes, pain points, regulatory requirements, and desired outcomes.
  
• Lead discovery workshops to proactively identify needs and shape the data product vision, roadmap, and prioritization.
  
• Define product KPIs, operational metrics, dashboards, and analytical opportunities aligned to payer and provider workflows.
  
• Develop user journeys, process flows, and detailed data product specifications across healthcare domains including:
  Claims Members Providers Encounters Eligibility & Enrollment Utilization Management Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

Healthcare Data Product Ownership

• Own the end-to-end product backlog, including epics, features, and user stories for:
  Data ingestion pipelines Data transformation and enrichment UDAP model adoption Downstream data product outputs
• Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to design and deliver canonical data models, normalization layers, and gold-layer data products.
  
• Ensure data products comply with healthcare standards and regulations, including:
  HIPAA CMS requirements EDI transactions (837, 835, 834, 820) HL7 and FHIR standards Payerprovider interoperability mandates

Technical Leadership

• Work directly with engineering teams using technologies such as Databricks, PySpark, Python, SQL, Kafka, and Azure-based cloud data platforms.
• Understand and translate technical constraints, ingestion patterns, data lakehouse architectures, and streaming/batch data flows for non-technical stakeholders.
• Support engineering teams with feature definition, prioritization, backlog grooming, and acceptance criteria.
  

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary business-facing product lead for enterprise healthcare clients.
• Present product roadmaps, feature releases, data models, and dashboards to executive leadership and operational teams.
• Communicate clearly across both technical and business audiences, managing expectations and driving alignment.
• Partner cross-functionally with compliance, QA, release management, and data governance teams to ensure successful delivery.
  

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in healthcare data, analytics, or platform product management.
• Deep understanding of payer and/or provider workflows and healthcare data domains.
• Proven ability to lead discovery, define roadmaps, and manage complex data product backlogs.
• Working knowledge of healthcare data standards (EDI, HL7, FHIR) and regulatory requirements.
• Experience collaborating closely with data engineering and architecture teams in cloud environments.
