Product Designer Hardgoods

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop new

  decorative hardware / home dcor products

  in line with international market trends
• Create

  2D & 3D designs

  using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar
• Develop

  technical drawings

  , specifications, and measurements for production
• Coordinate closely with

  tooling, production, plating, and finishing teams

  to ensure design feasibility
• Work on

  custom developments

  as per buyer requirements and brand guidelines
• Research global trends, finishes, materials, and styles for

  export markets (US, Europe, Middle East)

• Prepare

  sample briefs

  , revisions, and approvals for buyers and internal teams
• Support merchandising and sales teams with

  product visuals, presentations, and catalogs

• Ensure designs meet

  quality, compliance, and cost targets

• Continuously improve existing products for better functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / Degree in

  Product Design, Industrial Design, or related field- NIFT Graduate

• 5 years of experience in

  hardware, furniture, home dcor, or metal products industry

• Strong knowledge of

  metal materials

  (Brass, Zamac, SS, MS) and finishing processes
• Proficient in

  AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar design tools

• Understanding of

  manufacturing processes

  (casting, machining, polishing, plating)
• Experience working with

  export buyers and sampling processes

  preferred
• Good aesthetic sense and understanding of

  international design trends

• Ability to handle multiple projects and tight timelines
  
• Strong coordination and communication skills
