Prod. Steward Rep I - Plastics & Films

Role Description:

The Product Steward is the key link between Eastman's Advanced Materials segments (Specialty Plastics, Advanced Interlayers, and Performance Films) and the larger Global Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) team. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the SBUs Product, Marketing, and Technology teams, and providing them with comprehensive regulatory support, insights, threats/opportunities, and recommendations. The role involves a deep understanding of the market segments and Eastman's product offerings and a hands-on approach to identify and obtain the necessary registrations, third-party certifications, and other regulatory clearances required to enable continued/extended market access for existing products and new product launches in the business strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Relationship Management

  : Build close relationships with business and technology personnel, Global Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs colleagues, Trade Associations and/or NGOs.

• Project Leadership

  : Develop product regulatory clearance and/or third-party certification strategies and implementation plans by working closely with Product Management, PSRA regulatory experts and regional PSRA personnel, as appropriate.

• Regulatory Insights

  : Monitor and communicate international and regional regulations in addition to proposed regulations that are relevant to the business organizations and other assigned expert area.

• Customer Inquiries and Communication

  : Facilitate external communication of regulatory topics by answering specific regulatory questions to our customers via Eastman's Customer Inquiry Management system, and business and technology partners.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, polymer science, or related technical degree with 2+ years of experience in the chemical industry required
• 1+ year(s) of experience in Chemical Product Regulatory and/or Product Stewardship role(s) strongly preferred
• Industry experience in automotive, building & construction, and/or plastic food contact materials preferred
• Project management or project leader experience preferred
