Principle technical expert - Power electronics

The primary responsibility of this role is to master a strategic technology domain in Power Conversion, actively develop and deploy related innovations and expertise, such as research, platforming, standardization, trends, partnerships, intellectual property, and reference documents. You must have a deep understanding of typical power conversion product development processes to actively engage in technical interactions with end-customers and problem-solving related to offer issues. As the Overall Technical Project Lead for a Complex power conversion product with multiple Power Conversion Sub-systems like UPS/Solar Inverters, you will play a crucial role in influencing the technical direction within one line of business or across multiple Lines of Business when in a "central" function. You will be expected to perform the following technical activities with very minimal supervision and guidance: - Design and simulate proposed architectures using popular design tools such as Mathcad, Matlab, and SPICE, with hands-on experience in topologies like PFC, Neutral Point Clamped Inverters, and Power Supply circuits like Forward and Flyback. - Design magnetics (transformers, inductors) for various power converter topologies and interact with vendors to obtain appropriate design samples. - Estimate power losses and thermal stress for various semiconductors (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes) for typical power conversion topologies using design tools like Mathcad or Spice. - Conduct worst-case stress analysis and tolerance analysis on various Power Topologies, Signal Conditioning circuits containing both passive and active components. - Analyze circuit behavior for both analog and digital circuits like Operational Amplifiers, Logic gates, etc. - Possess working and debugging knowledge of EMI/EMC guidelines for power conversion products and related debugging skills. - Support FMEAs and FTA activities in accordance with the organizational quality process. - Assist in embedded firmware development for control, monitoring, and communication purposes. - Perform root cause analysis and guide younger team members in adopting systematic methodologies for root cause determination. - Support Design Verification Testing (DVT) activities and review them as per requirements in terms of Performance and Customer needs. - Efficiently address work processes, implement optimization methods, and utilize risk management tools to achieve successful project completion according to stakeholders" requirements. - Provide guidance to the younger team in sub-system and system-level testing, while also reviewing their design deliverables and acting as the Overall Project Technical Champion. Qualifications/Requirements: - ME/M. Tech in Power Electronics/Control Systems/Embedded Systems (Mandatory) - Minimum 10+ years of experience in Power Conversion full-time role after Masters Education - Good oral and written communication skills in English - Self-organizing under challenging circumstances - Good team player and able to manage diverse stakeholders This is a full-time position with the job requisition number: 009GKU.,
