Principal Software Engineer

As an AVP, Principal Software Engineer for Marketing Apps at Synchrony, you will be part of a premier consumer financial services company known for delivering a comprehensive suite of digitally enabled products. Within the Marketing Technology team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing highly available and scalable integrations across marketing platforms. Your responsibilities will include developing applications across the full stack, influencing agile development teams, implementing new technologies, and driving a CI/CD strategy. You will also ensure compliance with architecture, security, and technology standards set by Synchrony, participate in Agile scrums, and maintain application code quality through development and testing. To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of system engineering experience or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in application development and 3 years in designing scalable applications. Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, relational databases, and Customer Data Platforms is essential. Desired skills include strong PC skills, experience with documentation tools, continuous integration environments, technical communication, and interpersonal skills. The role requires working from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST, with flexibility to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time and 11:30 AM Eastern Time for meetings with India and US teams.
