Principal Geotechnical Engineer - Maritime

As a Geotechnical Engineer at WSP, you will be responsible for leading and managing geotechnical analyses and design for maritime infrastructure. Your role will involve performing technical tasks such as geotechnical analyses, calculations, design, verification, and desktop studies for the development of various maritime infrastructure components. This includes conducting stability, settlement, and foundation analyses for structures like piers, wharves, retaining walls, and quay walls. You will be expected to evaluate soil-structure interaction and provide recommendations for foundation systems, encompassing both shallow and deep foundations. Additionally, your expertise in geotechnical design of maritime structures, including marginal quays, jetties, dolphins, Ro Ro facilities, marinas, and coastal structures, will be essential. Knowledge of construction techniques, testing methodologies such as pile testing, and the buildability of maritime structures will also be required. Your role will involve leading geotechnical design and analysis works independently, including tasks related to inspection of site investigation and ground improvement works. Proficiency in programming skills such as Python and VBA, alongside knowledge in marine and geotechnical engineering aspects, including marginal quays, coastal structures, combi-walls, and blockwork walls, will be advantageous for this position.
