As a Principal Engineer, youll be creating great customer outcomes via engineering and innovative solutions to existing and new challenges, and technology designs which are innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust. Youll be defining, creating and providing oversight and governance of engineering and design solutions with a focus on end-to-end automation, simplification, resilience, security, performance, scalability and reusability.

Youll also be:

• Defining and developing architecture models and roadmaps of application and software components to meet business and technical requirements, driving common usability across products and domains
• Working with the various feature teams to produce software rapidly and of high quality which adds value to the business
• Determining the design and delivery approach for all of the platforms software throughout its life
• Working within a platform or feature team along with software engineers to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools to enable the delivery of bank platforms, applications and services, acting as a point of contact for solution design considerations

Youll come with significant experience in software engineering, software or database design and architecture, as well as experience of developing software within a DevOps and Agile framework. Development teams to use Gen AI tooling to increase productivity to develop, test, maintain and manage applications.

To manage the containerized IDE platform. The team's senior engineer role will lead the Developers Utilities Feature team which operates a technology stack that is broad, complex and undergoing a period of significant change.

Youll also need:

• Understanding of AI model lifecycle, including training, deployment, and monitoring in production environments
• Hands-on experience integrating or building GenAI solutions like using LLMs, prompt engineering, embedding models, or chatbot frameworks
• Hands-on DevOps experience, particularly withSCM and CI/CD toolchainslikeGitLab,Ansiblepreferred
• Strong development experience in at least one mainstream programming language like Java, Node.js, or .NET
• Experience working withcontainerized applicationsand orchestration platforms such asKubernetes
• Solid understanding ofCloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC)using tools likeTerraformorCloudFormation.
• Basic understanding on TLS handshake and networking
• Experience on logging and monitoring tools and basic principles of observability
