Job Description

As a Principal Engineer, File Transfer Services, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of engineers while also being hands-on with coding activities. Your responsibilities will include spending 70% of your time on coding and code-related tasks, and 30% on coaching team members. You are expected to drive innovation and organizational growth through your technical expertise. Your adrenaline rush comes from coding in IDEs and writing non-feature code, collaborating through writing interfaces, tests, and architecture fitness functions. Key Responsibilities: - Implement, monitor, and maintain compliance and security concerns in CI/CD pipelines to uphold the principle of Code is Design and Design is Code. - Drive domain-driven design by enforcing contextual mappings and aggregates for each bounded context. - Bring cutting-edge engineering practices to life in multiple evolving frameworks to reduce costs and increase the lifecycle value of features. - Work on complex enterprise-wide initiatives, architect and deliver new services, and participate in agile processes and decisions. - Drive architectural design, improve customer experience, and contribute to Guild initiatives to enhance Software Engineering craftsmanship. - Take on challenging assignments, participate in public speaking engagements, and publish technical content on relevant topics. - Conduct technical interviews, identify and address siloed behaviors within the organization, and contribute to enterprise-wide challenges and regulatory needs. Qualifications Required: - Expertise in building highly resilient and scalable distributed systems, with exposure to various database, messaging, and caching technologies. - Proven design and development experience in multiple languages, secure coding standards, and vulnerability management. - Understanding of DevOps best practices, infrastructure as code, and cloud-first software development. - Experience in implementing advanced test setups, Continuous Integration and Delivery concepts, and operating systems internals. - Skills in promoting reference architecture, advanced design patterns, API standards, and full-stack development. - Ability to engage engineers in promoting standard software patterns, leading teams in software planning, and driving trade-off discussions. - Proficiency in performance engineering, architecture and cost analysis, chaos testing, and agile and modern SDLC practices.
