Principal Engineer (Director role)

The role of the Principle Engineer (Director) is to serve as the most senior engineer in the Team, capable of effectively communicating complex topics and collaborating closely with CIOs, business partners, and Principal Engineer peers. Your responsibilities will include upskilling teams, providing oversight, and giving direction for delivering projects at scale. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing Java, Python, and containerization to ensure efficient execution of risk and compliance data processing across diverse cloud environments. To excel in this role, you must possess a deep understanding of technology, best practices, and emerging trends within the industry. As a hands-on and passionate technologist, you should continue to contribute code to production while also engaging in activities such as blogging about technology, maintaining a GitHub portfolio, and contributing to open source projects. Expertise in development practices, particularly in core programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, and Go, is essential. Experience in event-driven processing is advantageous but not mandatory. Additionally, you should stay informed about industry shifts and advancements in areas such as Containers, Kubernetes, Cloud, Virtualization, service mesh, data lakes, storage, and networking. You must be adept at translating business opportunities into technical solutions, selecting appropriate tools for various tasks, and building strong relationships with stakeholders and technology partners. By challenging existing perspectives and advocating for improved approaches, you will play a key role in enhancing efficiency and quality within the organization.
