Description
As the Principal Compliance Officer at BitGo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring full compliance with PMLA laws. Your responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining effective AML/KYC policies, procedures, and controls to adhere to regulatory requirements. You will oversee the implementation of appropriate AML and CFT policies and procedures, including the operation of the risk-based approach. Additionally, you will liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and law enforcement agencies on AML and compliance-related matters. Your role will involve ensuring that the company's operations comply with the PMLA, 2002, PML Rules, and VDA AML guidelines. You will be responsible for maintaining an effective transaction monitoring system to detect suspicious transactions and submitting necessary reports to the Indian FIU. Keeping abreast of developments in AML/CFT regulations and providing timely guidance will be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will act as the primary liaison between the VDA service provider and regulatory authorities. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in compliance or risk management, with in-depth knowledge of PMLA regulations as they apply to digital assets and cryptocurrency platforms. Strong understanding of financial crime prevention, including AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, and sanctions screening, is essential. You should possess excellent communication skills to convey regulatory requirements to internal teams and external parties effectively. The ability to manage regulatory inquiries, audits, and work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities is critical.
