Principal Applied Scientist

As an AI Expert at Microsoft E+D India, you will be part of a high-caliber and highly motivated team working on transformative products for commercial customers by leveraging AI. Your primary focus will be on strategic workloads such as M365 Copilot App, Outlook, Teams, and Copilot Extensibility. Additionally, you will contribute to building next-generation engineering infrastructure and processes using AI to enhance developer productivity and engineering efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Tackle a wide variety of challenges, from data ingestion to generating actionable insights using AI. - Collaborate with other teams across Microsoft to build AI platforms, models, and products. - Lead feature crews with a growth mindset to embrace and extend innovations in the field. Qualifications: Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research). - Master's Degree in relevant fields with 4+ years of experience. - Doctorate in relevant fields with 3+ years of experience or equivalent. Preferred: - Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction. - Ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders. - Excellent communication skills and collaboration across different groups. - Creativity in problem-solving and keeping pace with rapid innovations in the field. - Experience in developing or working with scalable classifiers, ranking algorithms, and other AI techniques.
