The Opportunity

Nature of Employment: Contract

We’re looking for an Entertainment Writer who can dive into scripted content from buzzy new shows to cult classics and write compelling features, reviews, and timely news stories that cut through the noise.

Key Responsibilities

• Write 4–5 articles a day, including explainers, news hits, and feature pieces.
• Review shows/movies and break down trends with strong research and contextual insight.
• Stay on top of daily entertainment news and social media chatter.
• Be familiar with Google Trends and use it to find timely, searchable angles.
• Pitch smart story ideas regularly.
• Be responsive to editorial feedback.
• Be available for real-time coverage when relevant news or episodes drop.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience writing about TV, pop culture, or entertainment news.
• Strong grasp of entertainment industry terms, story formats, and tone.
• Experience pitching and writing timely coverage that connects with audiences.
• Excellent time management and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Comfortable working night shifts.
