Position: Assistant Teacher

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

Type: Full-time, On-site

Role Overview: At Windsor House Early Years, the Assistant Teacher plays a vital supporting role in delivering a warm, engaging, and enriching learning experience for young children aged 3 to 5 years. Working closely under the guidance of the Head Teacher, the Assistant Teacher supports the execution of the curriculum, ensures a safe and nurturing environment, and helps build the foundational skills essential for lifelong learning

Key Responsibilities

1. Child-Centered Teaching & Learning Support

a. Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, play based learning experiences across multiple domains.

b. Facilitate activities that nurture creativity, social-emotional development, and age-appropriate independence.

c. Support children during circle time, story sessions, thematic play, and structured activities.

d. Engage with children using storytelling, songs, rhymes, manipulatives, and hands-on materials to build language, numeracy, and motor skills.

2. Learning Environment & Classroom Management

a. Help maintain a clean, safe, and inspiring classroom environment that reflects the Windsor House ethos.

b. Support transitions, snack time, outdoor play, and rest routines with attentiveness and care.

c. Monitor and encourage positive peer interactions, supporting conflict resolution and empathy-building.

d. Prepare learning materials and assist in setting up provocations and invitations to explore.

3. Observation, Documentation & Communication

a. Observe each child closely to understand their learning style, needs, and preferences.

b. Maintain anecdotal notes and assist in preparing individual child progress reports under the guidance of the Head Teacher.

c. Communicate regularly and respectfully with parents and caregivers, sharing observations and insights as needed.

4. Team Collaboration & Professional Conduct

a. Collaborate effectively with the Head Teacher and classroom team to ensure smooth planning and execution of the curriculum.

b. Participate in ongoing training sessions, workshops, and reflective practices as part of professional growth.

c. Uphold health, hygiene, and safety protocols as per Windsor House standards.

d. Contribute actively to school events, family engagement activities, and celebrations.

Qualifications & Background

1. Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Montessori, or any equivalent pre-primary teacher training certification is required.

2. 1–3 years of classroom experience in a preschool or early years setting preferred.

3. Basic knowledge of child development principles and inclusive classroom practices.

4. Fluency in English is essential; strong spoken communication skills are a must.

5. Comfort with using simple tech tools for planning and communication is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
