Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow

Purpose

The postdoctoral fellow will be working on exciting projects in the domain of statistics and machine learning, primarily focusing on interdisciplinary research topics. The projects will be guided by Prof Soudeep Deb from Decision Sciences area and by Prof Venkatesh Panchapagesan from the Finance & Accounting area.

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Conducting research in the domain of statistical applications.
• Writing and disseminating research works through high-quality research papers.
• Supporting the project guides in writing research proposals and grant applications.
• Presenting the research in domestic and international platforms.

Qualification and Personal Profile

Candidate must have obtained Ph.D. degree in statistics, mathematics or related disciplines.

Key Skill and Ability Requirements

• Good understanding of statistical inference, probability theory, Bayesian methods, basics of machine learning techniques.
• Expertise in coding, preferably in R and Python.
• Evidence of high quality research publication in related domains.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of statistical finance and/or real estate markets will be advantageous.
