Portfolio Manager - Software Asset Management

As a Portfolio Manager for Software Asset Management (SAM) at SoftwareOne, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects related to software and subscription procurement, rightsizing solutions, deployment prerequisites, commercial implications, and total cost of ownership. Your responsibilities will also include managing existing license pools, recommending and confirming deployment, and ensuring timely subscription renewals at the appropriate level with the necessary options based on operational needs. You will be tasked with operational reporting on software and subscription usage, costing, inventorying, maintenance expiry, and compliance. Additionally, your role will involve compliance management by ensuring that all software applications are deployed in a compliant manner, addressing any non-compliance issues with internal stakeholders, and collating demand from different functional groups within the customer organization to streamline licensing requirements and leverage volume discounts. Budget management will be a key aspect of your position, as you will be responsible for proposing and managing a specific budget for routine software license and subscription renewals. Furthermore, you will need to ensure that virtualized environments are licensed compliantly and cost-effectively, while also recommending alternative options where applicable. As a Portfolio Manager, you will be expected to conduct periodic and ad-hoc stakeholder meetings, provide license advisory to internal stakeholders, handle ServiceNow requests and incident management, and collaborate with various functional workgroups within SoftwareOne and customer organizations. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in the licensing industry, with a strong background in SAM management and software licensing across multiple publishers. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You should have a solid understanding of virtualized environments, active directory/SCCM, and experience using tools like ServiceNow Request Management and Flexera. Customer-facing experience is a mandatory requirement for this position, as you will be interacting with partners at various levels within organizations, from operational teams to senior management. Your expertise in SAM licensing knowledge and your aptitude for effectively selling ideas will be critical in driving successful outcomes for SoftwareOne and its clients.,
