We are currently seeking applications for the position of Lead Consultant, Linux System Administrator. As a Linux System Administrator at Genpact, you will be responsible for implementing, performing, providing technical support, recommending support, and creating documentation. Your key responsibilities will include the following: Implementing Infrastructure: Administrators are tasked with building and installing computer infrastructure encompassing hardware, servers, and virtual machines. Additionally, they are responsible for performing regular maintenance on software, monitoring client systems, and proactively designing and installing upgrades, releases, and application patches. Providing Technical Support: Linux System Administrators are required to offer technical support to clients, respond promptly to reported issues, conduct root cause analysis, and perform various testing scenarios for comprehensive issue resolution. This role may involve being on call during irregular hours. Creating Documentation: In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for all system-related processes and procedures. This includes project requirements, changes and upgrades, implementation plans, and support tickets. Furthermore, you will need to generate summary reports for clients or internal management. Qualifications we seek in you: Minimum Qualifications/Skills: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Preferred Qualifications/Skills: - Intermediate level of Knowledge/Responsibility in Redhat/Centos. - Expert level knowledge of UNIX/Linux (L3) systems. - Proficiency in automation/configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Python. - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. - Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments. - Performance troubleshooting and capacity planning skills. - Proficiency in troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and tuning of Linux/Unix OS. - Knowledge of server hardware and software. - Experience in user administration using LDAP. - Familiarity with VMware Administration and virtualization techniques. - Knowledge of system security, patching, and upgradations. - Proficiency in host-based SAN migrations, SAN LUNS scanning, and mapping. - Strong understanding of LVM and Linux File systems. - Ability to tune kernel/system parameters. - Experience with Oracle ASM and SAN Storage. - Familiarity with TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, and NFS troubleshooting. Your role and responsibilities Influence customer/business/service partner's technical strategy to include IBM's technology Embed IBM's technology into customer/business/service partner's reference architectures, practices, and solutions. Help business/service partner's sales and technical teams demonstrate IBM's technology to their clients. Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise Business-Tech Alignment: Experience aligning business goals with tech solutions. Stakeholder Consensus Building: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for achieving consensus among stakeholders. 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage solutions.- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage. Knowledge of integrating storage solutions with servers and virtualized environments (e.g. KVM, VMware, Hyper-V). Specific Knowledge:- Hands-on experience with IBM Storage products (e.g., IBM FlashSystem, IBM DS8000, IBM Storage SW like Ceph, Fusion etc). Familiarity with related technologies such as NVMe, RAID, and data deduplication. Understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures. Expertise in storage cybersecurity, including immutable backups and ransomware protection. Tools and Methodologies:- Experience managing and monitoring storage systems using tools like IBM Storage Insights, Spectrum Control, or similar industry tools. OpenShift, VMware ESXi and other Infrastructure as service platforms Strong Understanding of data resilience strategies (HA/DR/Backup/Replication/Cyber resilience)
