Role Overview The Wooden Spray Painter will be responsible for applying paint, polish, or protective finishes to wooden toys, furniture parts, busy boards, and other wooden products using spray-painting equipment. The role requires maintaining high-quality finishing standards, ensuring child-safe coatings, and minimizing paint wastage. Key Responsibilities1. Painting & Finishing Work Prepare wooden surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and applying primers where required. Operate spray guns, booths, and painting equipment to apply paints, varnishes, or lacquers. Ensure smooth, even, and durable finish with proper color matching. Apply multiple coats as per design/production requirement. 2. Quality Control Inspect painted surfaces for runs, drips, rough patches, or uneven coating. Ensure finishing meets safety standards for children’s toys (non-toxic paints, smooth edges) . Correct defects through touch-ups or refinishing. 3. Material Handling & Efficiency Mix and prepare paints, varnishes, and coatings as per specifications. Minimize wastage of paints, thinners, and consumables. Maintain accurate records of paint usage and stock. 4. Equipment Maintenance Clean and maintain spray guns, compressors, and spray booths. Ensure proper functioning of tools and report breakdowns. Follow maintenance schedule to avoid downtime. 5. Health & Safety Compliance Wear protective gear (masks, gloves, goggles, aprons) at all times. Follow safety procedures for handling paints, thinners, and chemicals. Ensure proper ventilation and safe storage of paints and solvents. Dispose of waste materials responsibly in line with environmental guidelines. Qualifications & Skills Required Minimum 2–3 years of experience in spray painting (preferably wood products/furniture/toys). Knowledge of different types of paints, lacquers, and child-safe finishes. Ability to mix and match colors accurately. Skilled in surface preparation and spray techniques. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physically fit to handle repetitive work and long standing hours.
