Plasma CNC Machine Supervisor

As a Plasma Cutting Machine Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of plasma cutting equipment and personnel to ensure efficient and accurate metal cutting processes. Your role will involve setting up machines, programming them, maintaining quality control, and managing a team of operators. You will also be required to troubleshoot issues, optimize cutting parameters, and ensure that safety procedures are followed at all times. You will be responsible for supervising the setup and operation of CNC plasma cutting machines, ensuring that they are properly calibrated and configured for specific cutting tasks. In addition, you will be involved in developing and modifying CNC programs for plasma cutting, often utilizing nesting software like Sigmatech to optimize material usage. Ensuring that all cut parts meet specified dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and surface finish requirements will also be a key aspect of your role. Your duties will also include diagnosing and resolving issues with machines, programming, or materials, as well as coordinating with maintenance staff for any necessary repairs. You will be responsible for enforcing safety protocols and procedures related to plasma cutting equipment to maintain a safe working environment for all operators. Additionally, you will lead, train, and mentor a team of plasma cutting machine operators to improve their skills and performance. Other responsibilities will involve overseeing the proper storage, labeling, and handling of cutting nozzles and other consumables, identifying opportunities to improve cutting processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity, as well as maintaining records of machine operations, nesting layouts, and cutting parameters. To excel in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of CNC programming, plasma cutting technology, and material properties. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, including nesting programs like Starcam or OmniWin, will be beneficial. Problem-solving skills, strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, safety awareness, and physical stamina are also essential requirements. Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in metal fabrication or manufacturing, will be advantageous.,
