Plant Supervisor

Reports To Plant Manager

Job Purpose

To supervise day-to-day operations of the animal feed manufacturing plant, ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and optimal utilization of manpower and machinery.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations

• Supervise daily feed production activities as per production plan.
• Ensure correct formulation, batching, grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling, and packing processes.
• Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to feed formulation and quality specifications.
• Monitor raw material quality, in-process checks, and finished feed quality.
• Maintain proper records for batch production, formulations, and deviations.

Manpower Management

• Allocate work to operators, helpers, and shift staff.
• Supervise shift operations and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
• Train workers on SOPs, safety practices, and machine operations.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance of workers.

Inventory & Material Handling

• Coordinate with stores for availability of raw materials and packing materials.
• Control wastage, spillage, and pilferage of materials.
• Ensure proper storage and FIFO practices for raw materials and finished goods.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with plant safety rules and statutory requirements.
• Enforce use of PPE and safe working practices.
• Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Support audits and inspections by internal or external agencies.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports, shift logs, and downtime records.
• Report production performance, quality issues, and manpower status to management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
