Job Description

A Planning Engineer in a thermal power plant is responsible for creating, managing, and executing comprehensive plans for various activities, including maintenance, operations, and capital projects. They ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, while also optimizing efficiency and minimizing risks. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain master schedules: This includes creating detailed schedules for maintenance, operations, and capital projects, ensuring they align with overall plant objectives. Monitor project progress: Track progress against schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track. Manage project budgets: Estimate project costs, track actual expenses, and ensure they stay within approved budgets. Coordinate with other departments: Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution. Manage resources: Allocate and manage resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to ensure projects are completed efficiently. Analyze and report on project performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and identify areas for improvement. Identify and manage risks: Assess potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Participate in meetings and presentations: Provide updates on project status, engage in discussions with stakeholders, and present findings to management. Qualifications: B.
