POSITION DESCRIPTION Position: Piping Stress Engineer 1 Business: POWER 2X Location: Chennai. POSITION SUMMARY ANDRITZ is seeking a dynamic Piping Stress Engineer to take care about essential engineering tasks for our green hydrogen and renewable fuel solutions. We are looking for a professional with wealthy experience in product and plant piping engineering. Your deep understanding of stress analysis and designing solutions for petrochemical and fertilizer plants will play a crucial role for the success of our projects. This exciting opportunity is based at Chennai. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Define piping classes depending on project standards. Provide static and dynamic pipe stress analysis. Review 3D pipe routing outline and detail drawings at product and plant level. Review and release of designs under consideration of contractual and internal requirements. Close collaboration with colleagues in other departments and locations. Coordinate the deliverables with other relevant disciplines (layout, automation, civil, etc.) Participate in safety evaluations and the preparation of installation procedures. Support procurement by preparing information for inquires. Optimize and develop new design concepts in collaboration with process engineering and R&D. Take the responsibility to coordinate mechanical engineering tasks within projects depending on your experience SKILLSET REQUIRED Degree in a mechanical engineering discipline with atleast eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience. Knowledge about CAE Tools for static and dynamic piping analysis, experience with Caeser / Rohr2 is essential. Knowledge about 3D CAD programs, experience with Aveva E3D is an added advantage. Knowledge on Autocad Inventor is an added advantage. Knowledge about international codes and norms (ASME, ISO and EN, in particular ASME B31 and EN13480) is essential. General knowledge of steel and plastic piping materials. Ability to consult with customers and notified bodies about technical design requirements expected. Explain design solutions in an engaging manner. Experience to perform acceptance tests and to supervise the installation during start-up.
